Every year the Portland Community College Foundation has a fundraising gala to generate funds for student scholarships and emergency aid grants. I acted as the Art Director and Lead Designer for all visuals for the event, including both digital and print-based design. I also lead the team for event decor and pitched the “Festival of Dreams” concept. I collaborated with our external vendors to design the lighting plan for the spaces as well. 2023’s event included a 350 in-person dinner program at the Hilton Downtown PDX. The event raised over $318,000 for student scholarships. This year I was also able to work with students to create an interactive art experience during the cocktail hour of the event. We featured 2 art students who created live murals. We also featured 2 of our sonic arts students that created interactive light displays. One of my favorite things about this event is that the attendees LOVE to dress according to the theme. Leading up to the event we sent mood board inspiration to guests and they REALLY came thru with their outfits this year, as you'll see in the images below.
